FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 31, 2007 HIDEG RECEIVES PAUL M. TULLIO AWARD FOR DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE NBCE GREELEY, Colo.— Frank G. Hideg, Jr., D.C., of Paducah, Ky., was presented the Paul M. Tullio Award for Dedicated Service to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) by President Dr. Vernon Temple. The presentation of this prestigious award was the capstone of the Annual Meeting of the NBCE in St. Louis, Mo., on May 4. The Tullio Award, presented for the first time in St. Louis, memorializes a leader in chiropractic, especially in testing, licensing and legislative issues for the benefit of the profession. Dr. Tullio’s passionate commitment to financial and organization stability helped the NBCE achieve its reputation as the premier testing organization for chiropractic. Dr. Tullio passed away in 2000. Dr. Hideg served as District II Director for the NBCE, representing ten states in the Midwest region of the United States from 1977 to 2007; he decided not to seek re-election this year. Dr. Hideg served on the NBCE Board as Vice President from 1988 to 1991, President from 1992 to 1998, Chairman of the Board from 1999 to 2004 and another one-year term in 2005-2006. Dr. Hideg has been a state delegate to the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB) since 1976. He served as the FCLB Vice President (1978 to 1979) and President (1979 to 1980). In 1968, Dr. Hideg received his doctor of chiropractic degree from Lincoln College of Chiropractic in Indianapolis, Ind. He has practiced in Paducah since 1968. Dr. Hideg has served as Vice President of the Kentucky Board of Chiropractic Examiners since 1975, with each three-year appointment supported by the Kentucky Association and the Kentucky Society of Chiropractors. In 1995, he was honored as Chiropractor of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors. And in 1996 he received the FCLB’s celebrated George W. Arvidson Award for meritorious service to chiropractic. Dr. Hideg and his wife, Judy, have been married 40 years and are the parents of three grown children and grandparents of six. Headquartered in Greeley, Colorado, the NBCE is the international testing organization for the chiropractic profession. Established in 1963, the NBCE develops, administers and scores legally defensible, standardized written and practical examinations for candidates seeking chiropractic licensure throughout the United States and in many foreign countries.
