Applicant Eligibility
In order to establish eligibility for NBCE post-licensure examinations, individuals must meet all of the following requirements:
- The applicant must hold or have held a license to practice chiropractic. (The license may have lapsed, been suspended, been revoked, etc.)
- The applicant must provide written authorization from a state or international licensing agency. This authorization may be in the form of a requirement or request.
The SPEC/E&B application process includes forms to be completed by:
- the licensing agency that issued the applicant’s license
- the licensing agency that requires or requests that the applicant take the examination
Each of the required forms must bear an official state board seal. NBCE administrative procedures require that the applicant must obtain evidence of eligibility and submit it as part of the SPEC/E&B application.
The NBCE does not limit the number of times an examinee may take SPEC and/or E&B; however, this policy is unrelated to individual licensing agency policies regarding the recognition of examination scores.
