The NBCE Professional Relations and Communications Department shares information with the chiropractic profession through a variety of publications as well as a monthly report and news releases. In producing the report Job Analysis of Chiropractic 2005,the NBCE sought to provide the chiropractic profession with a credible, relevant and accurate representation of chiropractic as it is practiced today as a full-time profession.The NBCE has also created a brochure called Studies on Chiropractic 2005 that cites published studies and official inquiries regarding the efficacy, appropriateness and cost effectiveness of chiropractic health care. Informational brochures about the NBCE examinations are available free of charge. The brochure NBCE Examination Information includes descriptions and relevant dates for the Part I, Part II, Part III, Acupuncture and Physiotherapy examinations. The written examination application is also available online. The brochure NBCE Candidate Information for the Part IV National Practical Examination includes dates and locations, descriptions and test plans for the NBCE Part IV examination. The Part IV examination application is also available online. The brochures for the pre-licensure written and practical examinations are updated prior to each examination administration. The NBCE Information Brochure Special Purposes Examination for Chiropractic (SPEC) describes this post-licensure examination, used by licensed (or previously licensed) chiropractors in special cases such as reciprocity/endorsement or reinstatement following licensure lapse. The SPEC brochure is updated annually. The computerized SPEC is offered six times per year at Prometric Testing Centers nationwide. The NBCE Ethics and Boundaries Information Brochure describes the newest post-licensure examination which assesses the knowledge of ethics and boundaries issues, including ethical misconduct, sexual misconduct and sexual harassment encountered in chiropractic practice. The NBCE E&B is offered three times per year - in March and September along with other written examinations, and in June in Denver, Colorado, only. The brochure is updated annually.
